Custom Dog Road Trip Itinerary

Know roughly where you want to go? Let Pawtal research the road trip for you.

Tell me about your dog, route, travel dates and how you like to travel. I’ll research the trip and bring the main decisions together into one practical custom itinerary, so you’re not piecing it together across dozens of tabs.

Your itinerary can bring together suggested drive stages, accommodation options, places to stop, dog-friendly things to do and practical details worth checking before you book, with your dog’s travel needs considered alongside the route.

Best suited to longer, multi-stop Australian road trips where you already have a general destination or route in mind. Pawtal researches the trip for you, while you stay in control of bookings, confirmations and final travel decisions.
What Pawtal can bring together

One itinerary for the trip you’re actually taking

Instead of researching every part separately, get the main pieces brought together so you can review the trip as a whole before you start booking.

1

Drive stages

Suggested route pacing and practical places to break up longer travel days.
2

Places to stay

Dog-friendly accommodation options for you to investigate, compare and confirm directly.
3

Your dog’s travel needs

Planning considerations based on your dog’s travel experience, routine and known needs.
4

Stops and things to do

Dog-friendly walks, beaches, attractions, stops and other useful ideas along the trip.
Why This Matters

Dog-friendly does not always mean the trip works for your dog.

A place can allow dogs and still make the trip harder once your dog, your route and the way you travel are part of the picture.

Long drive days, limited stop options, unclear accommodation conditions, busy shared spaces, hot weather and rushed arrivals can all change how manageable the trip feels for the dog travelling with you.

Pawtal helps you look beyond whether dogs are allowed, so you can think through how the drive, stays, stops and daily pace may work for the dog actually travelling with you.

Before you book, it helps to ask:

  • How long does my dog usually cope comfortably in the car?
  • Where will we stop for breaks, water and time to settle?
  • Does the accommodation setup work with my dog’s behaviour, routine and known needs?
  • Are there local rules, heat, seasonal conditions or access limits I still need to check?
  • Does the trip still make sense once the drive, stay and daily pace are considered together?
What You Get

A researched itinerary that brings the main trip decisions together.

Pawtal helps you bring the route, stop ideas, accommodation options, places to explore and practical considerations around your dog together before you make final travel decisions.

What Pawtal does not do:

Your itinerary is planning support, not a booking service and not veterinary or behavioural advice.

  • Pawtal does not book accommodation, activities or transport for you
  • Pawtal does not guarantee availability, prices, access or current dog policies
  • Pawtal does not replace advice from your vet, trainer or behaviour professional
  • Pawtal helps you assess how options may fit your trip, but you make the final decisions for your dog
  • Pawtal does not remove your responsibility to confirm current details directly before booking or travelling

Before You Request

Frequently Asked Questions

A few important things to know before deciding whether a Pawtal custom dog road trip itinerary is the right level of planning support for your trip.

How does the request and payment process work?

You complete the custom itinerary request form and pay upfront at the same time.

The form asks for your trip details, dog details, dates, travel style and anything important Pawtal should consider when researching your itinerary.

Once your request and payment are received, Pawtal reviews the information and begins preparing your custom plan.

When does the 7 to 10 day delivery time begin?

The 7 to 10 day delivery period begins once your paid request has been received and Pawtal has the information needed to begin.

If important details are missing or unclear, Pawtal may contact you before research begins.

Can I get a refund?

If you cancel before Pawtal has started researching your itinerary, you can request a refund.

Because each itinerary is researched specifically for your route, dog, dates and travel style, change-of-mind refunds are not available once research has started.

If Pawtal cannot complete your itinerary, or there is a genuine problem with the service provided, the matter will be reviewed and an appropriate remedy provided.

This does not limit your rights under Australian Consumer Law and consumer guarantees .

Can I request changes after delivery?

Your itinerary includes one clarification or correction request within 7 days of delivery.

This can be used to clarify something, correct an issue or address a detail that may have been misunderstood from your original request.

It does not include creating a new route, changing the destination or rebuilding the itinerary around different travel dates.

Do you book accommodation or activities for me?

No. Pawtal researches and prepares your itinerary, but you make all bookings yourself.

This keeps you in control of prices, availability, cancellation terms, pet fees and final travel decisions.

Do you guarantee that places are dog-friendly?

No. Dog policies, access rules, opening hours and conditions can change.

Pawtal researches options carefully, but you should confirm current pet rules, availability, fees and restrictions directly with each provider before booking or travelling.

Who is this best for?

This service is best for Australian dog owners planning a longer, multi-stop or more detailed road trip who want Pawtal to do the research and bring the main parts of the trip together.

It is especially useful if you already have a starting point, destination or region, rough dates and a dog whose comfort, routine or travel needs should shape the plan.

What is the difference between this and the Dog-First Travel Planning System?

The $49 Dog-First Travel Planning System is the DIY option. You use the Priority Planner, personalised Road Trip Brief, Ultimate Guide and interactive planning tools to research and build the trip yourself.

The $129 Custom Dog Road Trip Itinerary is the done-for-you research option. You tell Pawtal about your dog, route, dates and travel style, and I research the route, stops, accommodation options and practical trip details for you.

If you want to stay hands-on with the planning, choose the Planning System. If you already know roughly where you want to go and want Pawtal to do the research, choose the Custom Itinerary.

What if I already have accommodation booked?

That is fine.

Pawtal can still research the route, drive pacing, stop ideas, activities and practical considerations around the bookings you already have.

What if I am still exploring ideas or do not know my full route yet?

You will get the most value from a custom itinerary when you already have a starting point, destination or region, rough timing and preferred travel style in mind.

If you are still deciding where to go, start with the free Dog Travel Card . It is designed to help you explore ideas before you move into more detailed trip planning.

Can you help with anxious or reactive dogs?

Pawtal can take your dog’s known travel needs into account when researching pacing, stops, accommodation style and other planning considerations.

Pawtal does not provide veterinary, behavioural or medical advice. For anxiety, reactivity, medication or safety concerns, speak with your vet, qualified trainer or behaviour professional.

What am I responsible for?

You are responsible for making bookings, confirming current rules and conditions, and deciding what is appropriate for your dog.

Your itinerary gives you researched planning support, but final travel decisions remain yours.

Know roughly where you want to go and want Pawtal to do the research for you? Tell me about your dog, route and travel plans and I’ll bring the main research together into one practical custom itinerary.
